К своему 60-летнему юбилею популярный британский журнал "New Musical Express" подвел кое-какие итоги.

Журналистами NME были составлены списки лучших песен за все десятилетия существования журнала.

И если в пятидесятых годах музыка преимущественно исполнялась сольными исполнителями, а музыкальные коллективы начали появляться лишь во второй половине 1950-х - шестидесятые годы увеличили количество таких коллективов в несколько раз.

Именно музыка в исполнении рок- групп в 60-е ворвалась на первые строчки музыкальных хит-парадов. А у таких коллективов того десятилетия как The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Stooges и The Kinks и по сей день довольно внушительная армия поклонников.
